“The EU emerges from the crises stronger and more united”, emphasized the president of the European Parliament, Roberta Metzolain her New Year message.
Ms. Metsola noted that 2022 “was a difficult year for Europe” and referred to the war in Ukraine, the pandemic, climate change.
“No country has the ability to answer all the questions alone, but together we were able to face challenges. We were able to do it quickly and efficiently. In 2023, we must continue on this path of determination and unity”, underlined the President of the EP. He also spoke about the protection of EU values: freedom, democracy, justice, solidarity and the rule of law, while pointing out that the EU “will continue to stand by Ukraine for a peace with freedom, dignity and security”.
