Robinhood will provide access to test the wallet to 2 million users

Stock and cryptocurrency trading platform Robinhood is expanding beta testing of its digital wallet to 2 million waiting list users.

At the Bitcoin 2022 conference in Miami, Robinhood Director of Products Aparna Chennapragada reportedthat more than 2 million people will be able to send and receive cryptocurrencies using the new functionality. At the same time, the wallet will not be available to residents of Hawaii, Nevada and New York due to “local regulation”.

Robinhood supports major cryptocurrencies, however NFTs and ERC-20 tokens are not available on Ethereum. The company is in no hurry to add support for new assets due to regulatory concerns. Robinhood is also working on implementing a second layer solution for the Bitcoin Lightning Network to make transactions faster and cheaper.

Recall that the beta version of the Robinhood cryptocurrency wallet was launched in January 2022. Then it was planned that by March only 10,000 people would have access to the wallet. It seems that testing is going more successfully than expected, and the company’s management decided to significantly expand the beta test.
