Robot painting sold for nearly $ 700,000

A “digital artwork” created by humanoid robot Sophia and clothed in the form of a non-fungible token (NFT) was auctioned yesterday for $ 688,888.

The painting, painted by the robot, will be auctioned in NFT form

NFT allows you to verify the ownership and authenticity of digital lenses. According to the source, the purchase of NFT was “the latest investment hobby.” An example is the recent sale of digital collage for nearly $ 70 million.

The current work, titled Sophia Instantiation, is a 12-second MP4 file that shows the transformation of a portrait created by Italian digital artist Andrea Bonaceto into a digital painting. Attached to the file is a real image drawn by Sofia on a printout of her self-portrait.

The transformation was performed using artificial intelligence algorithms, and the initial data were elements from the works of Bonacheto, real paintings and drawings or paintings created by Sofia on various surfaces. Robot creator David Hanson describes this process as “iterative loops of evolution.”
