Robot portrait of Alan Turing to be auctioned in November in Britain

A portrait of British mathematician Alan Turing created by the humanoid robot Ai-Da will be the first artwork to be auctioned by Sotheby’s in November. The portrait of Alan Turing, who laid the foundations of modern computing, stands out among the items to be auctioned between 31 October and 7 November. The painting is called ‘AI God’ and is estimated to sell for £100,000-150,000 (€120,000-180,000). This highly realistic robot is one of the most advanced in the world. It has bionic hands and the facial features, combined with the wig, make it look like a woman. It was created in 2019 by a team led by Aidan Meller, gallery owner and founder of Ai-Da Robot Studio, in collaboration with Artificial Intelligence experts from the Universities of Oxford and Birmingham.
