This Sunday (12), the Mothers Day and nothing better than celebrating this special date by watching a series that features important maternal figures in leading roles.
Matriarchs are almost always present in productions, whether they are loving, stressed, bossy, protective, among other characteristics. But one thing is certain: they do everything for their children.
To celebrate the date, the CNN prepared a list of 5 remarkable mothers in series. Check it out below:
Rochelle from “Everybody Hates Chris”
This is certainly one of the most striking mothers when we think of TV series. In addition to always taking a stand and defending her children, Tichina Arnold's character in “Everybody Hates Chris” was marked by her scolding, her agitated manner and her catchphrases, which became emblematic.
“I'm going to get the syrup” and “I put you into the world and I might as well take you out of it” are some of the phrases uttered by Rochelle to her children Chris, Tonya and Drew.

Lorelai from “Gilmore Girls”
Rory's mother also marked many generations. Played by Lauren Graham, the character Lorelai, in addition to being an incredible mother, has always protected and ends up playing the role of Rory's best friend.
As much as she can be impulsive, prone to taking risks and disagrees with her firstborn on some points, Lorelai has always shown herself to be empathetic, supporting her daughter's decisions.

Rebecca from “This is Us”
And what can we say about Mandy Moore’s role in the exciting series “This is Us”? Kate, Randall and Kevin's mother always knew how to distribute her attention to each of her children and support them, despite their different ambitions.
Until the end of her life, Rebecca was present in an empathetic and patient way, advising and supporting her children and, in the future, her grandchildren.

Jane from “Jane the Virgin”
Gina Rodriguez's character learned to be a mother at a very young age and in an unexpected way when she became pregnant after accidental artificial insemination.
Faithful to her ideals, such as getting married as a virgin, Jane is inspired by her matriarchal references – her mother and grandmother – to embark on motherhood and become a good mother for Mateo.
Joyce Byers from “Stranger Things”
Determination is the word to describe Winona Ryder’s role in “Stranger Things”. After the mysterious disappearance of her son, Joyce is portrayed as a strong, resilient and protective mother of her firstborn and does everything she can to find him.
