Rock in Rio: 3rd day has a forecast of rain and a sharp drop in temperature

The third day of Rock in Rio will feature a novelty in the program: the passage of a cold front in the city that hosts the festival. According to Alerta Rio, the monitoring system of the prefecture, there is a forecast of light to moderate rains and temperatures will have a sharp decline this Sunday (4).

The Climatempo portal indicates that the minimum temperature should be at 17° and the maximum should not exceed 22°. At Barra Olympic Park, the venue for the event, there is a 90% chance of blows throughout the day. During the night it can still drizzle and the sky remains cloudy.

With the ban on umbrellas and other objects that may be considered dangerous by the festival’s management, such as cans and containers with lids, the recommendation is that the more than 100 thousand people who will go to Rock in Rio take covers to protect themselves from the rain.

This Sunday, the ninth edition of the festival welcomes great artists such as Justin Bieber, Demi Lovato, Iza and Jota Quest on the Mundo Stage. On the other hand, the Sunset Stage features the participation of Gilberto Gil, Emicida with Drik Barbosa, Rael and Priscilla Alcântara, Luísa Sonza with Marina Sena and Matuê.

Names such as Iron Maiden, Dream Theater, Sepultura, Post Malone, Jason Derulo and DJ Alok have already attended the event. Next week, Rock in Rio starts on Thursday (8), with bands like Guns N’ Roses and Måneskin, and goes until Sunday (11), with Dua Lipa and Ivete Sangalo. On Friday (9), the festival hosts performances by Green Day, Avril Lavigne and Fall Out boy. Coldplay and Camila Cabello will perform on Saturday (10).

The capital of Rio de Janeiro is in the mobilization stage this Friday (2) due to the beginning of Rock in Rio. It is the second level on a scale of five and symbolizes that there are risks of high-impact events in the city, such as traffic jams and closures during the days of the event.
