The Rock in Rio festival lit up Christ the Redeemer, in Morro do Corcovado, Tijuca National Park, with guitar projections this Thursday (11) to celebrate the anniversary of the event, which had its first edition on this day in 1985.
Inside the designed guitar, the words peace, love, joy and union were displayed to represent the essence of the festival and the wishes of its organizers for the capital of Rio de Janeiro. The lighting was done in white, blue and red.
Still celebrating the anniversary, next Tuesday (16), before opening to the general public, the Cristo Redentor Music School will pay homage to the festival's 40 years of history, with the musical group Dó Ré Mi.
The group, made up of children and young people who excel in singing and dancing, will perform under the direction of maestro Leonardo Randolfo.
“It was an unforgettable night at Christ the Redeemer, I got goosebumps. There was great emotion when seeing Christ the Redeemer embracing the Marvelous City, all dressed up as Rock in Rio”, commented Roberto Medina, president of Rock World, the company that organizes Rock in Rio and also The Town festival.
The 2024 edition of Rock in Rio will take place in September, in Cidade do Rock, and already has confirmed attractions: Ed Sheeran, Imagine Dragons, NE-YO, Joss Stone and Angelique Kidjo.
