Rock in Rio: OneRepublic rocks the crowd with hits and covers of other artists

One of the main attractions this Saturday (14), the band OneRepublic took the stage at the World Festival Rock in Rio 2024 on Saturday night (19), almost 10 years after the first time they were on Brazilian soil. In addition to praising the country and saying that this is “the best festival in the world”, the group excited the audience with the biggest hits of their career and some famous songs by other artists, such as “Halo” by Beyoncé.

In addition to being the lead singer of OneRepublic, Ryan Tedder He is also a composer and producer for some other artists. At a certain point in the show, he performed a medley of some of the songs that have been part of the process: “Halo” by Beyoncé, “Bleeding Love” by Leona Lewis”, “Maps” and “Love Somebody” by Maroon 5, “Sucker” by the Jonas Brothers and “Greedy” by newcomer Tate McRae.

Not only with these did OneRepublic leave the public euphoric. “Apologize”, “I Lived”, “Counting Stars”, “I Lose Myself”, “Secrets”, “Love Runs Out” and “Sink or Swim” their greatest hits, were on the setlist.

OneRepublic didn’t leave the stage without praising the Brazilian audience. “I’ve been studying Portuguese for the last five days,” said Ryan Tedder, before trying out several phrases in the language, such as “I love you guys so much.”

On Friday (13), Ryan landed on Brazilian soil and took the opportunity to declare his love for the country. “Hello. I love this place, I love Brazil, I love Rio. We just arrived here,” he said, showing the view from the hotel, in front of the beach.

This will be the band’s second time in Brazil — almost 10 years since their last visit. In addition to being nominated for a Grammy in the “Best Pop Performance” category for their hit “Apologize,” OneRepublic was the first band to reach one billion views on YouTube with their song “Counting Stars.”
