Rock in Rio Brasil 2022 will have a space completely dedicated to the Amazon, where the public will be able to get to know, through multisensory experiences, the art and culture present in the largest tropical forest in the world.
The initiative is the proposal of the 2nd edition of Nave, a 360-degree audiovisual installation, which will be in one of the Olympic arenas of the event, with the objective of bringing to the participants works by more than 50 artists and activists from the North region of the country.
The project was presented this Thursday (14), during an event restricted to invited guests, held at the Museum of Tomorrow, Rio’s Port Zone. In addition to the immersive experience offered to the public during the seven days of the event, the initiative will also provide people with the possibility of following mapped projections inspired by the Amazon, spread on different postcards of the Marvelous City.
“Nave dives into the contemporary Amazon based on the art of various artists, culture makers, activists… bringing a sensorial, immersive, 360-degree experience, with monumental projections, a breathtaking sound, inside Rock In Rio, showing that the culture of the Amazon is very powerful and that is the Brazilian culture, too”, explained the visual artistic director of the project, Roberta Carvalho, from Pará.
“We will have a boat, which is basically a sound system, which is a typical sound construction on the outskirts of Belém”, he added.
“We are revealing an Amazon that is completely different from what people know. Everyone knows the exuberance of nature and all the problems of the Amazon, only from an environmental point of view”, highlighted the CEO of Rock in Rio, Luis Justo, to the CNN .
“We bring people a little bit of art, culture, that takes place in the Amazon, within a sensory experience, within an arena with a lot of mapped projection, music, smell, so it will in fact be a trip to a completely Amazon. unknown through this Ship”, he added.

After being suspended for two years due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Rock in Rio Brasil 2022 will take place between the 2nd and 11th of September, and promises to bring together almost 30 national and international artists and bands on the Mundo Stage.
