O World Rock Day is celebrated in July 13 and to celebrate the date, the Municipal Secretariat of Culture of São Paulo prepared a special week with 17 free shows . With a schedule starting at 4 pm, Brazilian rock bands and emerging groups in the genre are expected.
The Historic Center of São Paulo, the Flávio Império Municipal Theater, the Butantã Cultural Center and the Youth, Diversity and Tendal da Lapa Cultural Centers open their spaces for various musical performances by bands, such as King Suit , Boogarins , Maglore , Black Panther , Living from Idleness , Emma Stoned It is Pluto Was Once a Planet .
The date of July 13th, chosen because of a landmark from the 1980s, celebrates not only a musical rhythm, but a lifestyle. On this occasion, the gigantic festival Live Aid gathered thousands of fans to raise funds to fight famine in Ethiopia. Several rock names, such as Queen It is David Bowie introduced themselves.
