The actor and presenter Rodrigo Faro 50, is about to make his film debut as Silvio Santos in the film “Silvio” which hits theaters on September 12th .

In a press conference, he spoke about the moment he decided to accept the role and stated that one of the reasons was to pay tribute to the presenter and founder of SBT during his lifetime.

“[Pensei…] It will be an artist who will be honored while he is still alive… but God did not want it. This debut was already scheduled last year for September 12th, and God wanted to write another story”, he said.

Faro also recalled that he received the presenter’s “blessing” to play him in the live cinema on the Silvio Santos Program on December 23, 2018.

Silvio Santos died on August 17, 2024 at the age of 93 due to bronchopneumonia after infection with Influenza (H1N1).

The plot mixes fiction with facts. Starting with the kidnapping of Silvio Santos in 2001, the beginnings of Senor Abravanel’s career, from street vendor to the founding of SBT, are told.

In addition to Faro, two other actors play the presenter, but in other stages of his life: Vinicius Ricci and Felipe Castro . Names like Johnas Oliveira , Polliana Aleixo , Majorie Gerardi and Paul Weevil are also in the cast.
