The legendary group of Rolling Stones is turning 60 and Britain’s Royal Mint has released a £5 collector’s coin in their honour.
Hannah Phizacklea designed the image of one of the most important British rock bands, using a 1973 typeface, to carve out their name. It is one of the last coins of the year which will be issued with the portrait of Queen Elizabeth II on the reverse.
“We are delighted that you are honoring us with an official UK coin. Even more importantly, the release coincides with our 60th anniversary,” the band said in a statement included in the Royal Mint’s announcement.

The rock giants celebrated 60 years on the world music stage with a European tour that ended in Berlin in August, according to the AP.
