Ronald Antonucci, from Jovem Guarda duo “Os Vips”, dies

Singer Reynaldo Luiz Antonucci, known as Ronald d’Os Vips, died this Saturday (22).

Together with his brother Márcio Augusto “Vip” Antonucci – who passed away in 2014 -, the duo became known in the 60s for playing Jovem Guarda classics, such as “A Volta”, “Faça Algoa Coisa Pelo Nosso Amor” and “É Preciso Saber Viver ”, by “King” Roberto Carlos.

The Vips also translated Beatles hits into Portuguese, as Things We Said Today, I Should Have Known Better It is Yellow Submarine, which became, respectively, “Things that Happen”, “Menina Linda” and “Submarino Amarelo”.

In a post on the duo’s official Instagram account, Ronald Antonucci’s family informs that the wake is being held this Sunday (23), at the Consolação Cemetery, with the burial scheduled for 2pm.

A CNN contacted the hospital where the musician was admitted and is awaiting a response to update the article.
