On the official website of the Federal Service for Supervision in the Sphere of Communications, Information Technology and Mass Media, information appeared that the department intends to introduce “centralized control over the means of circumventing the restriction of information prohibited by law,” that is, VPN services. In this regard, Roskomnadzor sent a request to companies and organizations with a request to inform the Public Communications Monitoring Center about the use of six VPN services: Hola! VPN, ExpressVPN, KeepSolid VPN Unlimited, Nord VPN, Speedify VPN and IPVanish VPN. According to the department, such information is needed to “ensure the operation of technological processes.”
Recall that recently Roskomnadzor also requested information from companies about VyprVPN and Opera VPN, and then restricted the use of these services in Russia.
