Roskomnadzor has launched a mobile application for the expedited filing of citizens’ complaints about information prohibited in Russia.

At the moment, beta versions of the RKN application are available for Android and iOS in the online app stores Google Play and App Store.
As the developers explain, the purpose of the RKN application is to increase the efficiency of removing prohibited information from the network. In addition to filing complaints about prohibited content, the service allows you to track the stages of its consideration, check whether access to Internet resources is limited, including reducing the risks of blocking for non-deletion of materials.

Illegal content, the distribution of which is legally prohibited on the Internet in Russia, includes materials related to child pornography, propaganda of suicide, drugs, and so on. They are included in the unified register of prohibited sites.
The app complements the feedback channel, through which, since November 2012, Roskomnadzor has received more than 2.7 million messages about information on the Internet that violates Russian law.
For more than 8 years since the beginning of the relevant law, the department received and considered more than 315 thousand reports on child pornography, almost 643 thousand – on drug trafficking, 211.5 thousand – on calls to suicide, about 1.5 million – on illegal gambling.
