Roskomnadzor drew up protocols on an administrative offense in relation to social networks Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, TikTok, VKontakte, Odnoklassniki, the Telegram messenger, and the video hosting YouTube. This was reported by the press service of Roskomnadzor.
To date, the court received protocols against Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, VKontakte, Odnoklassniki and YouTube.
As Roskomnadzor explains, the basis for drawing up the protocols was the failure to delete or untimely removal by the platforms of information that involved adolescents in illegal activities – participation in unauthorized mass events.
The Odnoklassniki social network became the first in a series of potential fines recipients. On March 4, the magistrate of the Savelovsky district made a decision to fine Mail.ru LLC in two cases of administrative offenses for untimely deletion of appeals in the Odnoklassniki social network. For each of the considered cases, a penalty was imposed in the form of a fine in the amount of 2 million rubles. The total amount of the fine was 4 million rubles.
Roskomnadzor expects the imposition of similar administrative fines in relation to the other mentioned social networks, as the cases are considered by the court.
