Roskosmos uses Soyuz rockets paid for by OneWeb for launches under the federal program

“Roscosmos withdraws from the OneWeb project six launch vehicles paid for by a foreign customer”Strugovets said.

These missiles will be used, according to the head of the press service, to provide launches under the federal program, as well as in the interests of other customers.

Recall that on March 3, the OneWeb Board of Directors voted to suspend all planned launches of its satellites by Russian missiles. On March 4, Dmitry Rogozin instructed to stop all launches of Russian missiles in the interests of the British OneWeb “due to the hostile position of Great Britain towards Russia.” On the night of 4 to 5, the Soyuz rocket was supposed to deliver 36 OneWeb satellites into orbit, but this launch was canceled, and the satellites were placed in storage at Baikonur until the situation was resolved. Yesterday it became known about the conclusion of an agreement between SpaceX and OneWeb: Elon Musk’s company will deliver OneWeb satellites into orbit instead of Roscosmos.
