The number of miners unauthorized and illegally connecting to power grids is growing. The load on the networks is greatly increasing, equipment is beginning to malfunction and shut down, according to power engineers.
Rosseti Siberia specialists cite recent emergency power outages in the Krasnoyarsk Territory, Khakassia and Omsk Region as an example. The audit showed that one of the main reasons for network failures was the use of electrical energy by mining farms.
The only way to force miners to connect legally, reducing the load on the network, is to introduce a differentiated tariff for electricity, energy workers believe. Rosseti Siberia believes that paying for energy depending on the volume of consumption will help improve the reliability of networks.
Recently in Russia it was proposed to disconnect miners from electricity for at least 500 hours a year.
