Rostec has created a tracking device in poor visibility conditions: it has no analogues

The developers of the Ruselectronics holding, which is part of the state corporation Rostec, yesterday, July 27, officially presented a new hybrid television device, which was created specifically for monitoring distant objects in poor visibility conditions. This device, for example, allows you to track various objects in fog, rain, snowfall, during dust storms and low light levels, which is extremely useful in certain scenarios of use. Moreover, the developers noted that the new development, which has no domestic analogues, can be installed on aircraft, surveillance and tracking onboard systems and not only.

Also, the developers of the new device talked about some of the features of the gadget that make it a universal tracking device. The fact is that the device was originally created for work in the near infrared range (1.7 microns), due to which the latest development has the functions of a night vision device. But this does not interfere with using the device at any other time of the day, so that the gadget will be able to detect objects even against the background of a bright sky, providing a clear image in high resolution. And if the new development is used as part of a passive surveillance system, then the range will increase by about 2-2.5 times.

For example, if the system uses a new development of Rostec in tandem with laser illumination technology, then the device can detect and track objects at a distance of up to 20 kilometers. Moreover, the device is even capable of identifying the subject of surveillance. The development itself is presented in the format of a sealed case with a vacuum inside, which contains a photocathode and a special electronic-sensitive matrix. The authors of the project stated that thanks to their design, it was possible to significantly reduce the amount of noise interference, as well as to raise the resolution of the gadget.
