Today, July 25, employees of the Roselectronics holding, which is part of the state corporation Rostec, officially announced the creation of their own electronic components necessary for the communication equipment of Sukhoi Superjet 100 (short-haul) and MS-21 (medium-haul) aircraft. The main advantage of the Russian development is that the technical characteristics of the new devices are in no way inferior to their American counterparts, which makes it possible to completely replace foreign products that are part of the on-board radio communication equipment.
The developers of domestic equipment said that the latest line of vacuum high-frequency polarized type circuit breakers boasts impressive resistance to vibration-type loads. Accordingly, this equipment is intended for switching high-frequency and microwave electrical targets, which are part of the radar and communications equipment on board the aircraft. It is important to note that this is not a concept project, but a full-fledged hardware – new products have already been successfully tested as part of on-board communications equipment, so that they can be used for civil aviation purposes.
Moreover, employees of the Penza NIIEMP, who developed Russian switches on the order of NPP Polet (the institute and the scientific enterprise are part of Ruselectronics), believe that Russian products have additional advantages in addition to replacing American-made gadgets. For example, domestic development will significantly increase the service life of communication equipment, plus it will increase the reliability of the signal. And, most surprisingly, the production volumes of NPP Polet are very impressive – now we are talking about one and a half thousand devices per year, but if necessary (if there are orders from third-party customers), production can be increased several times.
