Rostec listed real “spy” devices that do not appear in the films. All Russian

In the official blog of “Rostec” there was an article-a selection of devices that can easily be compared with gadgets from spy movies. The only difference is that screenwriters invent non-existent devices that are possible only in cinema, while devices made of this material exist in reality. All of them were presented by Russian developers over the past two years.

Self-destructing flash drive, safe for the owner

In November, Technodinamika presented a self-destructing flash drive, which is fundamentally different from existing analogs: unlike the implementation in them, in case of detonation of this model, the integrity of the case is not violated – in other words, it is safe for the user. The principle of operation is simple: if it is necessary to urgently delete information from the flash drive, the user needs to click on the button on the end. This activates the power source inside, which will activate the electric detonator – it will burn the printed circuit board with a cumulative jet, thereby irrevocably destroying all data stored on the flash drive.

According to the idea, such a drive will be useful not only for protecting state secrets or documents of a similar level, but also for saving web passwords or pin codes – both employees of government departments and employees of organizations working with confidential information are called potential customers. In the future, the developers plan to test the self-destructing flash drive for safety in various scenarios of use during long-term storage, as well as test for resistance to mechanical and climatic factors.

Smart rifle from Kalashnikov on Android

In 2020, Kalashnikov presented the MP-155 Ultima, the first Russian SMART-gun (based on the MP-155 smoothbore self-loading rifle, which is in demand among hunters). The belonging of this development to the category of smart is justified by the fact that the gun is equipped with a camera (capable of both recording video with Full HD resolution in the internal memory and broadcasting it online via Wi-Fi) and a digital display (it displays a standard clock, stopwatch and timer, as well as useful counters for the number of shots and remaining cartridges for the owner of the gun, there is also a compass). In 2021, an updated version of the MP-155 Ultima was released, which received an on-board computer based on Android.

Such a gun is already being sold in the public domain on the official website – 130,000 rubles. With a mass of 4.4 kg and a barrel length of 510 mm, it holds a magazine for 7 rounds of 12/70 format. SMART-gun differs from the usual “smooth-barrel” MP-155 even outwardly due to the futuristic design – like a weapon of space fighters from the science fiction.

Shredder that turns classified documents to dust

Conventional shredders (paper shredders) are not suitable for the destruction of classified documents, since they do not cut them finely enough – there are specialized organizations specializing in the recovery of documents after shredding. Moreover, competitions for the restoration of ground images are regularly held. But a special shredder from Ruselectronics literally erases documents into dust – it cuts an A4 sheet into pieces of 1 × 0.8 mm (for comparison, the line thickness from a ballpoint pen reaches 1.5 mm), which cannot be assembled to restore a destroyed document neither software nor hardware.

The shredding speed is quite high – up to 6 sheets of paper at the same time, 6 cm per second (provided that it is a standard density of 80 g / m²). The developers note that the device was created for use in industrial enterprises, tax departments, banks and security agencies – it corresponds to the highest class of secrecy (R-7) and is made from Russian parts at the Novosibirsk Oxide plant.

Stealth drone navigating without navigation

Drones are already being woven into everyday life, becoming not only “toys” for ordinary people, but also assistants in extinguishing fires, searching for missing people, making films and aerial photography. Copters are also being actively tested in mail delivery. But a drone can be dangerous in the wrong hands – even conventional drones can be intercepted by hackers if they tamper with control signals or GPS.

In April 2021, the ZALA AERO company from Izhevsk presented a civilian drone ZALA 421-24, capable of navigating the terrain completely autonomously, that is, without a satellite navigation system, and without control signals. This was achieved thanks to an individual positioning system: the coordinates on the map are loaded into the quadrocopter, and then it builds a route to a given point with intermediate points (while the drone itself orients itself on the terrain and remains radio silent). He needs a specially equipped launch pad, and the duration of an autonomous flight reaches 40 minutes.
