Rothschild Investment Corp, which manages more than $ 1 billion in assets, has tripled its investment in bitcoin through the Grayscale GBTC fund since April.
A report to the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) revealed that the company owns 141,405 shares of the Grayscale Bitcoin Trust (GBTC). At the same time, in the April report, the number of shares was 38,346. Considering that each GBTC share equals 0.000939767 BTC, it turns out that the Rothschild group owns 132.8 BTC. At the current exchange rate, this is about $ 4.1 million.
The asset management company also invested in a fund for Ethereum Grayscale Ethereum Trust. However, in this case the number of purchased shares is noticeably less – 6,244.
Rothschild Investment Corp executives do not seem to be too worried about the drop in the exchange rate. However, according to Grayscale CEO Michael Sonnenshein (Michael Sonnenshein), large investors rarely pay attention to short-term fluctuations in rates.
In any case, compared to the total volume of assets managed by the Rothschild group, investments in cryptocurrencies on its part remain extremely small. This is confirmed by analysts at Glassnode, who noted a decrease in the inflow of institutional capital into the Canadian Purpose Bitcoin ETF.
