The title competes in the category of Best Drama Series against “The Day of the Jackal”, “The Diplomat”, “Mr. & Mrs. Smith”, “Shogun: The Glorious Saga of Japan” and “Slow Horses”. The result will be announced at the ceremony scheduled for January 5th .
Despite only arriving on the streaming service on December 26th, The series’ release date falls within the awards eligibility window, which runs from January 1st to December 31st, 2024 .
The first season of “Round 6” It broke records as one of the most watched original productions in the platform’s history and became the first non-English-language production to be nominated for Best Drama at the Emmy Awards in 2022.
In the first season of the series, Seong Gi-hun (played by Emmy winner Lee Jung-jae), player 456, is the big winner of the game and takes home the prize of billions of won.
