Royal family, who are the members who work to support themselves

Harry and Meghan Markle did it. They abandoned the Royal Family and their royal commitments to start a new life, made of work and sacrifices (ok, forgive the irony). News, they are not the first and they certainly will not be the last. Real life is made up of many refugees from the obligations and commitments that life at court entails. A cage. Still golden, but still a cage.

There are many members of the royal family – more or less close – who normally work in civil society, and who, while not having a leading role in the British monarchy, are still children and grandchildren of the sovereign of England.

Starting with Prince Edward, who for years has worked in the cinema (unless you think about it), to the famous Zara Tindall, the first granddaughter of Queen Elizabeth. But also the princesses Eugenie and Beatrice of York and model and influencer Lady Amelia Windsor, in 39th place in the line of succession to the throne of England. This is how royals “without a wallet” earn their loaf.

Starting with the Queen’s first granddaughter, Zara Phillips Tindall, perhaps one of his favorites. She doesn’t work directly for the monarchy and she doesn’t even have a noble title because her mother, the royal princess Anna, chose this path for her when she was born. Her passion are horses: she is an equestrian champion who also won the silver medal at the 2012 Olympics. The freedom she and her husband Mike Tindall have to move as they want has also made her ambassador of super luxury brands like Rolex, a commitment that is worth £ 1 million more on her already greedy family fortune (she is still the granddaughter of a Queen!) every year. Basically what Queen Elizabeth wanted to do (but never declared) (remember the 3rd season of The Crown?). Also Peter Phillips, brother of Zara Tindall, is the Queen’s nephew for work does it Sport Consultant, working for years in Formula 1 until he opened his own Sports & Entertainment UK Ltd, where his wife also works Autumn Phillips.

The important surname – Windsor seems to have facilitated Lady Amelia in his career. Although not in direct lineage, Lady is the granddaughter of Edward Duke of Kent, the Queen’s first cousin to whom she is very close. Someone defined it “The most beautiful of the royal family”, someone “the most rebellious”, heir to Prince Harry. There is a lot of talk about her, thanks to her life as an established model and influencer. A few years ago he was talked about more than anything else for his rebellious and unconventional behavior that reminded many of the irregularities of his cousin, Prince Harry. Now, with a few years and a little more wisdom behind her, Lady Amelia has begun to get noticed for other merits than her love for yacht parties, wild dancing and cigarettes (all excesses that were documented on the his old Instagram profile, now removed).

For a while he also kept up with a normal job Prince Edward, the youngest son of Elizabeth II, perhaps more out of ambition than out of real need for money. He founded a TV production company, the Ardent Television Production Company. Ardent became involved in the production of documentaries and dramas, particularly inspired by the productions of the prince himself. It didn’t go very well. the Prince was accused by the media of using his ties to the royal family for personal purposes, especially for the inexplicable way in which he had managed to pay off his company’s heavy debts. His wife too, Sophie di Wessex (a favorite daughter-in-law of Queen Elizabeth) had opened a public relations agency. Too bad that the lost sheep have returned to the fold, given that they have been actively working for the Crown for a decade and have left their respective careers.

And then there are Beatrice and Eugenie of York, tireless workers. Princess Beatrice is Vice President of the Partnerships and Strategy division at Afiniti, a multinational that deals with data and software, while Princess Eugenie is in the art market. After her studies she did internships and apprenticeships until her current job, director of the gallery at Mayfair Hauser & Wirth.
