Royal website adopts black background in honor of Queen Elizabeth II

the website of british monarchy darkened after the death of Queen Elizabeth II.

The platform notes that it is temporarily unavailable and currently has an image in honor of the late queen.

A message at the bottom of the royal’s main website reads: “The royal family’s official website is temporarily unavailable while appropriate changes are made.”

“The queen died peacefully at Balmoral this afternoon.
The King and Queen Consort will remain at Balmoral tonight and return to London tomorrow.
Thursday, September 8, 2022,” the website read.

Some time after the announcement, the website was updated with the information that King Charles III and the Queen Consort will remain at Balmoral tonight and return to London tomorrow (9).

Furthermore, the websites Prince of Wales and the Archewell of Harry and Meghan also became a darkened landing page, with messages in memory of the Queen.
