RS Delegate arrested after being convicted of rape of interns

A police delegate of Rio Grande do Sul, convicted of rape crimes, sexual harassment and sexual harassment, was arrested on Wednesday morning (7) in Santa Maria, in the central region of the state.

You crimes would have been committed against two interns who worked at the same police station where he worked in São Borja, northwestern region of Rio Grande do Sul.

According to the Rio Grande do Sul Court of Justice (TJRS), Marcos Ramos Vianna was sentenced to a penalty of 20 years and 3 months in prison, in a closed regime. The conviction also determined the loss of public office. The decision is no longer appealed.

The crimes would have occurred between 2018 and 2021, inside the police station. According to the TJRS, Marcos was already removed from office since the beginning of investigations in 2021.

In a statement, police said that “the police inquiry by the police office was established in 2021, which was sent to the judiciary that year. There are no further details to be informed.”
