According to the two companies that supply electricity to Rio Grande do Sul, RGE Sul and CEEE Equatorial, more than 170,000 points are without electricity in the state.
The lack of power is a reflection of the storms that have hit the state since Thursday (21). On Wednesday (20), through social media, Governor Eduardo Leite alerted the population asking everyone to seek safe places.
“Important alert: from tonight until Thursday morning, RS is expected to be hit by intense rain and very strong winds. We are mobilized to serve the population and ask that everyone seek safe places,” he wrote.
In the area served by the company CEEE Equatorial, there are 142,346 points without power, around 7.36% of customers. In the RGE Sul company area, 31 thousand points remain without supply.
Information was also released about the operators' telephone and internet connections. In total, six municipalities have unstable telephone and internet services and four are without services.
