At the time of the arrest, the police thwarted an attempted robbery in the city, arresting three criminals, who are from São Paulo, inside a vehicle on BR-290. Another criminal, from Minas Gerais, was arrested with the support of the Federal Highway Police (PRF) while he was fleeing in a vehicle on BR-101.
According to the Civil Police of Rio Grande do Sul (PCRS) reported this Monday (15), three of the criminals had already been arrested previously. Firearms, false vehicle license plates, cell phones, plastic seals to tie up the victims, and other items were seized from the individuals.
The arrest took place this Saturday (13).
The suspects specialize in robberies of luxury homes, and to commit the crimes, they were violent, according to investigations.

Delegate Adriana Regina da Costa, director of the Metropolitan Police Department, reported in a press conference how the process that led to the arrest of the suspects took place. “We started all the work since 2022, as individuals used the same modus operandi, entering luxury houses in the capital, wearing gloves, masks, being a well-organized group,” she said.
