RS prison system will be reinforced by federal employees and employees from the states of SC and MG

The routine of prison units in Rio Grande do Sul will be reinforced with 75 employees from the National Secretariat for Sentencing Policies (Senappen), the Secretariat of State for Justice and Public Security of Minas Gerais (Sejusp) and the Secretariat of State for Penitentiary and Socio-educational Administration of Santa Catarina (SAP).

The assistance from the states and the federal government comes after some employees in Rio Grande do Sul had their homes affected by the floods that impacted the entire state of Rio Grande do Sul.

According to the government of Rio Grande do Sul, since the beginning of the climate events, the Secretariat of Penal and Socio-Educational Systems (SSPS) and the Penal Police (PP) established a crisis office to monitor the situation in the affected prisons.

The mobilization aims to guarantee the safety and physical integrity of prison staff and people deprived of liberty.

On Friday morning (10), 15 criminal police officers sent by Senappen embarked, in Brasília, heading to Rio Grande do Sul.

In the next few days, 30 servers will arrive from Minas Gerais and 30 from Santa Catarina.
