The Rio Grande do Sul Civil Police arrested, this Thursday (15), the Lawyer Daniel Fernando Nardon, 46, suspected of leading a criminal scheme of legal frauds in series . Nardon was captured in Dourados (MS) after trying to flee through the border of Ponta Porã towards Paraguay.
The investigation pointed to movements that can reach $ 50 million. The lawyer, born in Porto Alegre, was on the run since the beginning of Operation Malus Doctor, launched on May 8.
According to police, 14 people are investigated, including nine lawyers – responsible for flying more than 145 thousand fraudulent actions against financial institutions especially in Rio Grande do Sul and in São Paulo.
According to delegate Vinícius Nahan, the investigations pointed out that the group used false documents and forged signatures to file actions without the consent of the victims, many of them already deceased. One victim even stated that more than 30 cases were moved in his name without his permission.
In addition, the operation identified the systematic use of the so -called “slicing demands”, in which actions were opened in different counties and with different lawyers, making it difficult to identify fraud and increase attorney’s fees and, therefore, profit.
On the day of the operation, Nardon was in Sao Paulo, but fled to Ilhabela (SP), then to Mato Grosso and was finally tracked on a route to Ponta Porã, on the border with Paraguay. In the early hours of Friday (16), the lawyer was taken to RS on a Civil Police plane.
The Brazilian Bar Association (OAB) suspended Daniel Nardon’s professional portfolio, preventing him from exercising law while the disciplinary process is underway.
Until May 13, 45 formal occurrences have been recorded against him, and the victims reside mainly in Porto Alegre, but also in neighboring municipalities such as Canoas, Viamão, Montenegro and Charqueadas. The estimated loss exceeds R $ 320 thousand in these cases alone.
