This Wednesday (2), the CNN Specialist Rubens Barbosa commented on how the Brazilian government’s actions can be interpreted in relation to tensions in Eastern Europe.
The crisis between Russia and Ukraine could jeopardize the official agenda of President Jair Bolsonaro (PL), who is scheduled to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin this month.
“A performance by Brazil at this moment together with Putin may seem that Brazil is supporting Russia’s actions in Ukraine,” said Barbosa.
according to CNN Specialist, in the midst of a certain isolation of Brazilian diplomacy on the international scene, Russia is one of the few countries where President Bolsonaro is expected to fulfill his agenda soon.
According to Barbosa, this trip can cause a bad impression of Brazil to other countries.
“If Russia attacks Ukraine, it will create a big problem for Brazil, for its external perception. It is a delicate journey, and perhaps inappropriate for this moment”, he concluded.
