Rugged PC sales expected to resume growth this year

Rugged personal computer sales were hit hard by the 2020 coronavirus pandemic, according to industry observers, but they are expected to start recovering in 2021 as vaccines become available and businesses resume normal operations.

Compared to mainstream consumer PCs, which saw strong sales in 2020 thanks to the shift to remote work and learning, demand for rugged PCs declined as businesses cut costs.

One of the leading manufacturers of rugged PCs is Getac. Last year, sales of these products brought Getac about 46% of all revenue, which increased by 3.28% compared to 2019. Getac originally expected more growth in 2020 as the pandemic had to halt shipments.
