In honor of such a significant event, Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko congratulated representatives of the IT industry and all users on Runet Day, and also provided interesting statistics.
According to Chernyshenko, by the end of 2021, the monthly audience of Runet exceeded 100 million people, which is more than 80% of the country’s population. About 90% of Internet users go online every day, and among young Russians aged 12-24 this figure is close to 95%.
The number of domain names registered in the .ru zone is more than 5 million, and in the .rf zone – more than 670 thousand. The Vice Prime Minister noted:
In March, domestic platforms significantly increased their audience figures. For example, the number of visits to Rutube grew by 64%, and the total (Russian and foreign users) audience of VKontakte increased to 100 million people.”
