Running in your pajamas to help children with cancer

On Friday 15 September, at sunset, Italians are asked to put on their pajamas and take to the streets to run and walk. It leaves at 6.30pm Run pajamasthe event created for help children with cancerorganized by Lilt, the Italian League for the fight against tumors.

In 23 squares in as many cities throughout Italy (Bari, Barletta, Biella, Brescia, Catania, Cuneo, Genoa, Latina, Lecco, Lodi, Milan, Rome, Padua, Palermo, Piacenza, Pistoia, Ragusa, Sondrio, Taranto, Terni, Trento, Treviso and Verbania) starts the fifth edition, which this year features Juliana Moreira and Edoardo Stoppa as testimonials.

The month of September is the one in which, all over the world, the Gold Ribbondedicated to raising awareness of pediatric cancers: the non-competitive race, born in Milan in 2019, has the aim of involving more and more people, to concretely support projects to help children undergoing cancer treatment and their families. Sport and movement have transformed the Run pajamas in an important national moment of fundraising, through the registrations of those who participate.

The invitation is to get in pajamas precisely to show closeness to those who are forced to wear them all day, for long hospital stays. Around 6.30pm, the solidarity race will start at the same time in the villages and meeting points set up throughout the Peninsula. There will also be refreshment points, entertainment and music.

«Lilt invites participants to give free rein to their imagination, showing off fun outfits, which will further animate the initiative”, says the association. «Participation in the initiative is also possible for everyone Anywherewalking or running wherever you want.”

With a donation of 15 euros you will receive the bib and the race pack with gifts from sponsors. So far there are already over 5 thousand members, and more than 83 thousand euros have been raised. But the goal is even much more ambitious.
