“Ruptura”: what to remember from the first season of the series?

After three years, “Break ” returns with new episodes for the Apple TV+ . This Friday (17), the public will finally be able to find out what happened to the Lumon Industries employees after the end of the first season.

In the plot, Mark and his friends discover the terrible consequences of tampering with the rupture barrier, leading them down a path of even more suffering.

The title is starred Adam Scott (“Parks and Recreation”), Britt Lower (“Young Single Looking”), Tramell Tillman (“Dietland”), Christopher Walken (“The Sniper”), Patricia Arquette (‘Boyhood’) and more.

At the end of the day, they return upstairs, and their “Outies ” (that is, the real consciousness of each of them) do not realize that time has passed.

The company defends this procedure, but it faces strong opposition. Mark (Adam Scott ) chose this mental separation to deal with his grief over the death of his wife, Gemma.

Lumon Industries is responsible for the consciousness separation procedure. Mark and his colleagues spend their days removing “dangerous” numbers from files. The company was founded by Kier Eagan (Marc Geller ), considered a divine figure, and his former manager Harmony Cobel (Patricia Arquette ), fired at the end of the first season, communicates with a mysterious executive board.

Also during the first season, Helly (Britt Lower ), a new employee, soon realizes that quitting is not an option due to strict rules and punishments.

The discovery of the self-help book “You Are What You Are”, written by Ricken Hale (Michael Chernus ), changes the perspective of some Lumon employees, especially Mark and Dylan (Zach Cherry ).

The “Innies” see the book as a powerful source of transformation, embracing its ideas, such as questioning a system that demands change instead of adapting to it. In this way, the book becomes a catalyst, motivating them to challenge Lumon’s strict rules.

What happens in the final stretch of the first season of “Ruptura”?

Dylan discovers a protocol, called Overtime Contingency Protocol (OTC), which allows Lumon to activate an employee’s Innie outside of the rupture floor, which can cause serious psychological harm to the Innies.

Along with Mark and Helly, Dylan locates the OTC control room, and together they plan to activate Mark, Helly and Irving’s Innies (John Turturro ) outside of Lumon, allowing them to experience life in the real world.

In the final episode of the first year, we are introduced to more details about Irving’s past, including a list of Lumon employees, which he uses to find his love, Burt (Christopher Walken ), and discover that he has a partner.

Mark learns more about his sister and her marriage to author Ricken Hale, while Ms. Cobel, plugged into Mark’s universe, warns of illicit OTC activities. Helly, also known as Helena Eagan, reveals herself to be the biggest threat, being responsible for keeping employees separated, and files a complaint against Lumon at a major event.
