Rural credit contracts in the first five months of the 2021/22 Harvest Plan operation totaled 131.4 billion reais, an increase of 24% compared to the same period of the previous harvest, as reported by the Ministry of Agriculture on Thursday.
The government made available 74.6 billion reais in funding, up 25%, while investment contracts totaled 35.2 billion reais, 13% higher than the previous harvest.
Sales contracts totaled 13.5 billion reais, an increase of 48%. On the other hand, industrialization contracts represented 8.1 billion reais, 23% higher.
The most demanded types of commercialization are Storage, Financing to Guarantee Prices to Producers (FGPP) and Special Financing for Storage of Agricultural Products (FEE), which represented 78% of the contracted value for commercialization in the current harvest.
These initiatives are used to mainly help corn, soy and coffee producers.
In the performance of rural credit by region, the North had an increase of 26% in the number of contracts and 45% in value.
