The level of collective immunity against coronavirus in Russia in a week reached from 58.2% to 60.4%, announced today the Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian government Tatiana Golikova.

According to the same until today, December 24, 77,876,905 people have received the first dose of the vaccine, while 73,106,249 people have been fully vaccinated with the two doses. These numbers achieve a level of immunity of 60.4%, she said, noting that in Sevastopol the level of immunity has reached 90%.

“As President Vladimir Putin emphasized yesterday, this is not enough for the people of our country to be considered sufficiently protected from the coronavirus. Give a gift to you and your loved ones in the New Year: give him immunity from the disease, it is free and safe, “Golikova added.

She has stated that in order to achieve collective immunity, at least 80% of the adult population, ie more than 90 million people, must be vaccinated.

Golikova stressed that the situation with the epidemiological burden has improved in 17 regions of Russia, while it has worsened in only two. “In Russia, unlike in Europe, at the moment we are able to deal with the pandemic without major restrictions, it is important to maintain this balance, observing the protection measures during the holiday season,” said the Russian Deputy Prime Minister.

In Moscow the level of immunity decreased within a week to 72% from 72.2%. As of December 24, 6,670,105 people had received the first dose and 6,268,959 people had received both doses.
