Russia has again accused the United States of developing biological weapons and funding projects in Ukrainian laboratories. The speech took place during the UN Security Council meeting this Friday (18).
During the speech, the representative of Russia listed several laboratories throughout Ukraine that are being used by the Americans for the development of biological weapons and studies of pathogens, in addition to being financed with US money.
“We give the UN information about biological facilities and activities in the country [Ucrânia] and secret operations since 2006, when this project began, according to the documents referenced here”, he added.
“It is dangerous research that Washington does not do on its own territory, not wanting to threaten its own people,” said Russian Ambassador Vassily Nebenzia.
According to Nebenzia, the artifacts would be a threat to the entire region and that it would not be possible to estimate the loss of human life if they were used or there was a failure in the installations.
US talks about disinformation and conspiracy theory
The American ambassador, Linda Thomas-Greenfield, rebutted the Russian’s accusations and said that “it is Russia that has a history of chemical weapons. Russia is the aggressor here.”
“We are not going to dignify Russian disinformation or conspiracy theories,” Thomas-Greenfield said, adding that “we know that Russia’s disinformation is a sign of its desperation. That’s the truth. Let’s make sure the world continues to see and hear this.”
The ambassador stressed that the act would be a “false flag” in an attempt to draw attention away from the conflict itself, adding that “Russia has repeatedly begged the Council in recent weeks” as well as “its own people”.
