A Lawyer who represented the deceased Alexei Navalny and accompanied his mother Russian defiant last week when she appealed to the authorities to hand over her son's body to her, was arrested today in Moscow, Russian media reported.
The arrest of Vasily Dubkov was reported, according to APE-MPE, by the newspaper Novaya Gazeta Europe and the news agency SOTA.
“No place was found for the public farewell” of Navalny
Alexei Navalny's spokeswoman stated today that his associates they could not find a venue in Russia where people will be able to pay their respects to the opposition leader who died in prison this month.
In a post on the X platform, Kira Jarmis said: “Since yesterday we have been looking for a place where we can say goodbye to Alexei. We visited most private and public funeral homes, commercial venues and funeral parlors.”
“Some say that the space is occupied, some deny with the mention of the name “Navalni”. Somewhere we were told directly that funeral homes are forbidden to cooperate with us”.
