Russia and Ukraine exchanged captives under 25 years of age, including seriously injured

Russia and Ukraine proceeded with yet another exchange of captives, exchanging soldiers under 25 years of age, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced Monday. In a statement via its official Telegram channel, the Ministry of Defense said the first group of soldiers had returned from areas controlled by Kiev. “In return, a corresponding number of prisoners of war were transferred to the Ukrainian Armed Forces,” the statement added. According to the ministry, Russian soldiers are currently receiving the necessary psychological and medical care in Belarus and will soon return to Russia for treatment and rehabilitation. Moscow and Kiev had agreed to exchange specific categories of prisoners – including those who are seriously injured, patients or under 25 – during the last round of immediate negotiations in Istanbul last week.
