Russia: Announces return to Black Sea grain deal

THE Russia praises her efforts Turkey and the UN to receive guarantees from Ukraine which allow the resumption of the agreement for the cereals. In more detail, Moscow announced today Wednesday (02/11) that the agreement on grain in the Black Sea which was achieved in July. “Thanks to the involvement of the UN and the support of Turkey, we were able to obtain the necessary written guarantees from Ukraine regarding the grain agreement,” the defense ministry said in a statement.

Russia considers “adequate” guarantees received from Ukraine and reiterates the implementation of the agreement, the ministry said.

It is recalled that on Saturday, the ministry announced the suspension of the agreement after the attacks on the Russian Black Sea Fleet in its port Sevastopols. On July 22, Turkey, the UN, Russia and the Ukraine signed an agreement in Istanbul to resume grain exports from three Ukrainian Black Sea ports that had been halted since the start of the Russia-Ukraine war in February. About 10 million tons of grain had been sent under the agreement according to the aa.com.

The UN, the USA, the Turkey and other nations and international actors had all emphasized their desire to see the continuation of the agreement.
