Neuf people were killed Tuesday, May 11, 2021 in a shooting at a school in Kazan, a city in central Russia, where one of the suspected shooters, a teenager, was arrested, according to Russian news agencies. According to the emergency services quoted by the Interfax, Tass and Ria Novosti agencies, nine people were killed: eight students and a teacher. Ten other people were injured, Tass said, four of whom were hospitalized.
“The police arrested a teenager who is suspected of being at the origin of the shooting,” said another source within the rescue services quoted by Ria Novosti, who adds that 21 ambulance brigades were dispatched to the site. “The shooter has been arrested. He’s a teenager, ”added an anonymous source quoted by the Interfax agency. According to Interfax and Tass, a second suspected gunman could still be in the school building.
