Russia-Belarus agreement on trade in durum wheat and vegetable oils amid Western sanctions

Russia has reached an agreement with Belarus to reciprocally supply critical foodstuffs in case of need, such as durum wheat and vegetable oils, in a bid to shake off some of the burden of Western sanctions, according to the official. Belarus state news agency Belta.

The sanctions, which are steadily increasing, followed the Putin regime’s military offensive, from the territory not only of Russia, but also of Belarus, against Ukraine.

The two neighbors are also close to an agreement on energy prices provided by Moscow in Minsk, Belta said, without giving further details.

On March 11, Russia and Belarus agreed to take joint steps to strengthen their mutual support, including in the field of energy.
