Russia, China and Iran are trying to influence the US election, an intelligence official says

Russia is the most active foreign adversary trying to influence the Nov. 5 U.S. presidential election, while China is more focused on influencing the election of local officials, a senior U.S. intelligence official said today. The official said Iran is more active than in previous cycles, stepping up its efforts to influence voters ahead of presidential and congressional elections. US Sanctions and Prosecutions of Russian RT TV Officials The United States announced today that it is imposing sanctions on six officials of Russian public broadcaster RT, including its editorial director, Margarita Simonyan, as well as Russian hackers and a non-governmental organization that linked to the Kremlin, accused by Washington of attempting to interfere in the 2024 presidential election. The sanctions concern a total of ten persons and two entities, the Ministry of Finance clarified in its announcement.
