Russia deports 45 Polish diplomats

The Russian Foreign Ministry announced that it would deport 45 Polish diplomats from Russia on Friday, in response to the deportation of 45 Russian diplomats from Poland, as reported by CNN.

“In response to Poland’s hostile actions to expel Russian diplomats on the basis of reciprocity, 45 officials from the Polish embassy and consulates general in Irkutsk, Kaliningrad and St. Petersburg were declared” persona non grata ” the Russian Foreign Ministry in a statement published in the Telegram.

“They must leave Russian territory before the end of the day on April 13. A corresponding notice has been issued to the Polish ambassador to Russia,” the statement said.

Polish Ambassador to Moscow Krzysztof Kraevsky was summoned to the Russian Foreign Ministry on Friday to express “strong protest” over Poland’s decision to deport 45 Russian diplomats as persona non grata, according to the statement.

“The ambassador was informed that we consider this step as a confirmation of Warsaw’s conscious desire to permanently destroy bilateral relations. The responsibility for this lies entirely with the Polish side,” the Russian Foreign Ministry said.
