Russia: FSB blames Ukraine for murder of daughter of Putin’s ‘geopolitical guru’

Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB) today accused Ukraine’s special services of being responsible for the murder of Daria Dugina, the daughter of a prominent ultranationalist Russian ideologist, the Interfax news agency reported.

Dugina, the daughter of Alexander Dugin, was killed Saturday night when an explosive device detonated and blew up the Toyota Land Cruiser she was driving, Russian investigators said.

Ukraine has denied any involvement.

The FSB states in its announcement today that the attack was carried out by a Ukrainian woman born in 1979, whom it names.

The FSB adds that the woman and her teenage daughter arrived in Russia in July and spent a month preparing the attack, renting an apartment in the same complex and investigating Dugina’s lifestyle, according to the FSB statement issued by Russian news agencies.

The woman in question attended an event outside Moscow on Saturday night, where Dugina and her father were also present, before setting off a “controlled explosion” in Dugina’s car and fleeing Russia to Estonia, the FSB said.
