For 40 whole years the entrance to Russia to 122 foreign nationals who took part in unauthorized protests in Moscow.
The announcement was made by the director of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, which is in charge of immigration issues, Dmitry Sergienko, reports the Russian news agency Interfax.
However, the Russian official did not specify in which specific protests the foreign citizens took part, saying that since the beginning of 2021 he has submitted ten applications for citizens who are considered undesirable and for whom there is evidence that they participated in extremist and terrorist activities.
In February, writes the newspaper Novaya Gazeta, after the change of his sentence Alexei Navalny from suspension to prison during the protests the police arrested the citizen of France Cyril Daniel and the citizen of Syria Mohammad Zaaraf as Reuters transmits and relays the Athens News Agency.
Daniel had then stated to Interfax that he did not participate in the demonstrations, but was accidentally found at the protest site. The court then sentenced him to 7 days in prison, while Zaaraf was fined 15,000 rubles.
