The ultra-precise wearable magnetometer was invented by Alexandra Bernadotte of SberDevices. According to the press service, the patented technology is capable of registering a magnetic field of small and medium magnitude (in particular, emitted by the human brain) in the conditions of the Earth’s magnetic field and other static magnetic noise.
As the developers explain, the main feature of the new technology is that such a device does not require shielding, can work in everyday conditions and be portable, while the existing analogs function only in a special room at a temperature of about −200 ° C.
In addition, the development exceeds the sensitivity of existing SQUID magnetometers (Superconducting Quantum Interference Device) “by tens and hundreds of times.” It is noted that the patented device has no analogues in the world in terms of size and accuracy.
The technology will make it possible to develop light-point neural interfaces that allow computers to be controlled by the “power of thought”.
