Russia announced today that it has imposed sanctions on US President Joe Biden and US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken, as well as other senior US officials, by issuing a “ban list” banning officials from entering the country.
The list of 13 U.S. officials includes Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin, CIA Director William Burns, National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan and others.
Everyone is barred from entering Russia, and these sanctions are a response to the sanctions imposed by Washington on Russian officials. The list also includes the name of former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.
However, the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement that “official relations with Washington are maintained and, if necessary, it is certain that high-level contacts with the persons included in the list will be made.”
