Another scientist was handcuffed by her authorities of Russia in the Siberian city of Novosibirsk, who is accused of “treason”, the Reuters agency reported citing the Russian Tass.
Anatoly Maslov, the chief scientist of the Novosibirsk Institute of Theoretical and Applied Engineering was arrested and taken to a Moscow prison as part of an investigation by the FSB intelligence service, according to Tass citing a img close to the investigations. Masloff is believed to have handed over ‘data that is a state secret’the same img added, clarifying that this data was related to ultrasonic technology.
Several Russian media outlets, according to the Athens News Agency, reported that Maslov was arrested on June 28. Reuters was unable to verify this information.
Dmitry Kolker was also arrested this weeka doctor of physics and mathematics at Novosibirsk State University, on charges of treason for allegedly collaborating with China’s security services.
The treason charge carries a 20-year prison sentence.
